Mission Challenge: Can you launch your Novice Astronaut without exploding?
Dr. Anna Does delivers a curriculum-aligned STEM workshop to transform the KS2 ‘Earth and Space’ unit into a high-stakes engineering challenge. This session dives into human spaceflight, focusing on the incredible scientific advancements that allow us to survive in the vacuum of space.
Through hands-on experimentation, pupils will investigate the physical forces at play during a launch. By attempting to get their Novice Astronaut into orbit safely, students explore the relationship between atmospheric pressure and survival, moving beyond the classroom to see how modern engineering overcomes the most inhospitable environments in the universe.
